The head of the laboratory for especially dangerous infections of the Center for Fundamental Translational Medicine, Professor of Virology Alexander Chepurnov, believes that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus "KoviVac" is best suited for booster vaccination. “KoviVac is good for revaccination of COVID-19 patients. It is relatively gentle and therefore gives a good effect for those who have been ill, whose immune response has weakened, ”the doctor said in an interview with the Ridus agency . The virologist explained that people who were vaccinated with KoviVac have a low titer of antibodies, and in half of the cases there are none at all. Earlier, Doctor of Biological Sciences Alexander Semenov named the features of the EpiVacCorona vaccine. According to him, the drug trains cellular antiviral immunity, which protects against the development of adverse complications of coronavirus infection. At the moment, five vaccines have been registered in Russia: Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona, KoviVak, Sputnik Light and EpiVacCorona-N.
