Road solutions: what will be done with cracks on the highway in Sochi

Priority measures for the restoration of the A-147 highway were determined at a working meeting chaired by the mayor of the city Alexei Kopaigorodsky.

Due to a landslide in the Lazarevsky district of the city, four sections of the Dzhubga-Sochi highway were damaged. Reverse movement is organized on one of them. According to Andrey Chernigov , Deputy Head of the Rosavtodor Highways Operation Department , specialists carry out system monitoring and priority road measures to ensure the stability of the roadbed and restore traffic. The most difficult situation has developed on the 168th kilometer of the road - in the area of the Mamaysky Pass. There are about forty geodetic marks, filming is carried out every three hours. So far, no further deformation occurs. To secure the site, it will be necessary to create a pile field and grillages. Engineering and geological surveys have already begun. The three other damaged ones are undergoing urgent restoration work. The repairs on the 156th kilometer of the track have already begun. Design and estimate documentation for major repairs at 136 and 162 kilometers has been developed. It is planned to install retaining structures, build retaining walls and install a drainage system. It is assumed that after the repairs, the throughput of the highway will increase. The documents were sent for state examination. After receiving a positive conclusion, the work will begin next year. In the coming days, all deformation zones in these areas will be milled and covered with a dense layer of asphalt concrete. This will strengthen the roadbed and prevent further deterioration. In addition, to reduce the load on the highway and reduce traffic, specialists are developing backup options for bypassing, the press service of the Sochi administration reported. Recall that due to a landslide on the evening of October 4, two cracks formed on the A-147 Dzhubga-Sochi highway in the area of the Mamaysky Pass due to a landslide. Reverse movement was temporarily introduced on the site. On October 5, cracks appeared at the exit from Dagomys in the direction of Dzhubga. In total, four sections of the road were damaged. It was decided to restrict the movement of heavy trucks weighing more than 12 tons and oversized vehicles. The only exception will be the transport of organizations of the city's life support systems, for example, garbage disposal equipment. The rest will be offered temporary reloading and delivery of goods to the city by low-tonnage trucks.
